winstong

I’m Winston and I am a student at the University of Southern California studying Game Development.
I’m currently based in Los Angeles for the school year. During this time, I’m mostly playing games, making games, and enjoying busy college life!
I can’t wait to know more people. I’d love to chat about oppurtuinities, projects I’ve worked on, tennis, or whatever you’d like to chat about!
Lore
College!
At college, I’ve explored much more in the gaming circle. From attending the Games Developers Conference to exploring the 2025 Media Technology Summit, I found myself completely wrapped in the gaming space.
Now, I find myself expanding my skill sets in creating more innovative gameplay and networking with fellow game developers who share my passion!
Additionally, I’ve expanded my skillsets, like using Unity and learning C# as part of the process!
End of High School
Started exploring the artistic side of things. I started making small-scoped video games and focusing on more artistic and conceptual drawing.
I primarily used Unreal Engine 5 to create themed environments, and create simple blueprints to deliver simple games within these environments.
On the art side, I expanded my skill set, trying out oil paint to drawing quick sketches to creating collages. This time, I transitioned from a STEM kid to a more well-rounded creative.
Middle – High School
During middle and early high school, my education was mainly focused on STEM due to my passion for cars and mechanical engineering.
My Gaming Career
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, when everyone was physically seperated, I quickly joined a friend circle who used games to bring us together. Hopping on Discord and the two new hottest games in 2020, Valorant and Apex Legends, my friends and I found joy in the harsh reality. We didn’t know when or if the lockdown would end, so we tried to stay strong, having each other by our sides, though we couldn’t do it physically, but through synthetic online interactions.
With this, I started replaying games I loved from my childhood. I took a visit back to simulation games (Jurassic World The Game), RPGs (Yokai Watch 3 & 4), and Strategy Games (Clash Royale).
Time skipping to college application season, I found myself goal-less.
